I was introduced to yoga at the end of 2015 at a time in my life where everything was changing, I was at a point in my life where I was learning who I truly was while also unlearning many unhealthy things I had learned up until that point in my life. The teacher who introduced yoga to my life, did it in such a way that I was able to believe in myself and find courage to continue to practice even with my body being the way it was. I was taught that anyone could practice yoga and that it wasn't all about being flexible, what I looked like and what I could and could not do. It was about putting forth effort, trying over and over again even after failing and of course falling, and getting out of the way so that I could connect with my Self. It was about being present and doing my best. Letting go of the outcome and continuing to move forward. The timing for my introduction could not have been more perfect. All things in Divine time. I continued to practice with this teacher over the years and my practice and understanding of yoga grew. I was asked in 2021 if I would like to take the training and something much bigger than myself led me to do it. In May of 2022 I finished the training and have been teaching ever since. I carry on what I was taught that we can all practice yoga, that it is a connection to one's Self, that yes we do our best to make the shapes that we are guided into, but also finding that connection to Self and allowing the peace to come. Sometimes peace doesn't come and that too is ok, There's always an opportunity to learn and grow. We get to practice self-study when those times come. Yoga has been a huge part of my life and the peace I feel when I get to share with others is beyond explanation. I am grateful for the opportunity to introduce, guide and lead others through their yoga practices. I am honored to be able to carry the teachings that were shared with me and bring them into the lives of others. I'm excited to continue learning and to continue with my own practice.
